Are you awere of your real addictions? Smoking itself can be just the iceberg tip of the other, deeper patterns of behaviour which are real addiction. Think of the person who is smoking because of stress. You probably know at least one person who cannot handle stress without a drink or a fag. If they had an alternative of stress relief, smoking would not be necessary.
What are your own habits? Be sincere with yourself. Whad do you do very often, automatically? Is it bringing you to happiness and life victory or are you struggling with your life? make a list and check it regularny. It might be amazing how many things are habits in your life. But this is not all yet.
Which of your habits are destructive, holding you back? Review your list again. Congratulations if you hace spotted at least one destructive pattern . You have cracked the first code and have taken the first step to win the pattern. If you couldn’t define your destructive patterns of behaviour, I will give you some hints.
Everything that holds you back, but performed regularly is your personal addiction . Just think of automatic criticism, obsessive worries over a small issue, playing computer games for a long time. These are just very few examples of destruftive habits.
Do you always behave in the addictive way? Even if you are addicted there are the times of various intensity. If your life is more auspicious, there might be little need to use the bad habit. It means that the reasons for addictions don’t exist. How to spot your priodical addictions?
If you temporarily satisfy the needs for addiction in other way. let’s say smoking. You might find a more relaxing environment or be too much involved to want smoking. Some patterns of your behaviour occur occasionally, let’s say during a festive time because of social impact on you. Others will be more intense whe you are under pressure.
Sit down today and analyze all your automatic patterns of behaviour. It now it is a hard work for you to clarify the bad habits use the winner’s book to record your actions.
