Now let’s clip two letters at the end of “emergency and add “-e”. You will obtain the verb “emerge“. Again – what is your first association? Before you answer, here is a quote, found on Brian Tracy’s Facebook fan page: ”
When you look at a situation through the eyes of someone else, you often find unseen possibilities.”
The unseen possibilities, they just “emerge”. What is the conclusion? You can not only interpret the word “emerge” in various ways, but also through the eyes of someone else.
Now let’s come back to the facts that can “emerge“. Much depends on your attitude. Let’s take the recent economic crisis. The challenges which you have encountered can either motivate or discourage and frustrate you. For example, you can do your best and despite the worst scenarios – find a new job or change the field of your business. On the other hand, you can not only lose your current wealth, but also sink into depression.
Let’s check another example. Imagine you are going on holiday and you expect marvelous, sunny time. But a day before the departure the weather forecast emerges as… awful. There are also earthquakes possible. What is your reaction? Will you find any positive sides of “bad weather” or blame everything around?
How about you? Do you blindly believe in the dictionary definition of ‘emergency”, with the phrases focused on negative, alarming situation? What does usually “emerge” in your life – an opportunity or a problem? Share your views here.
